Garlic Wine Pork Chops: Pictures

On Thursday I stumbled across a Pinterest pin for a Garlic Wine Pork Chop that just looked delicious! So last night I made it for the family and it was a huge hit. Here's the pictures I took while cooking.

le Bistro Montage

Went to le Bistro Montage for the first time a few weeks ago and it was DE-LIC-IOUS. They are a fine-dining Cajun style restaurant who happens to be famous for their Alligator Jambalaya and their creative To-Go containers. Here are the pictures I took (it was a very dark restaurant so the pictures came out a bit grainy):

Montage is located in the East side Industrial area of Portland

Large family-style dinner tables set up throughout the restaurant

Large murals and paintings on the walls

Tables lit with candles and a full dining layout -
down to the dessert spoon you see in the picture

Appetizers: Hush puppies (Front Left)
Fried Frog Legs (Back Left) & Fried Alligator (Front Right)

Mac & Cheese with Garlic and Parmesan cheese
Alligator Linguine in the back.

Red Beans and Rice with Andouille Sausage

Pecan glazed pork medallions with garlic mashed potatoes and corn bread

Crawfish etouffee and corn bread

Rock Shrimp Jambalaya and corn bread (my dinner)

Are are the To-Go containers!!

Aren't they cute? Too bad they smash the food to make it fit.

Bridal Shower Pictures

This past Sunday I threw a Bridal Shower for my sister and her partner. I spent two months planning, organizing and test running the menu. And then cooked Friday night, all day Saturday and the better part of Sunday morning putting the final touches on everything. I was so busy cooking I didn't have much time to stop and take pictures. Here is what I did manage to capture on film.

We adapted a few recipes from here - including the Asian style meatballs

I also made 3 types of cupcakes

Mexican Hot Chocolate Mini Cupcakes

Vanilla cupcakes with a strawberry filling

Angelfood cupcakes with a lemon curd center and coconut/almond tops
Since my sister is vegan I tried to make food for her too.

Sauted Veggie wonton cups

Cashew Mushroom Pate

Martha's Pasta Crunch (<big bummer)

The food came out beautiful as did the decorations and table settings:

Herb & Gruyère Mini Quiche

Too many yummy choices.

We picked this one.

We just decided to do w/o crust - so it's more frittata like

Ingredients

Chop and saute green onions with garlic

Whisk eggs and milk

1 cup chopped Rosemary, Thyme and Basil

3/4 C grated Gruyère

Mix all together

Put into mini muffin pans (well sprayed with Pam)

Bake 20 minutes at 375*

(I added crumbled bacon to some)

Pull out using plastic spatula or fork

Enjoy!
